Ethidium Bromide is a widely used fluorescent stain for visualizing nucleic acids in solution or electrophoresis gels. At a concentration of 0.5µg/ ml, it is useful in agarose or acrylamide gels for band detection of as little as 10 ng of nucleic acid at 312 nm.
