Product: Genital ulcer

Cat#: SD9802Y

Genital ulcers have a broad differential diagnosis, and may arise from infectious or noninfectious causes. Infectious causes include Herpes simplex virus (HSV), syphilis (Treponema pallidum), chancroid (Haemophilus ducreyi), granuloma inguinale lymphogranuloma venerum (Chlamydia trachomatis serotypes L1, L2, L3), fungi (i.e., Candida),and secondary bacterial infections).

A diagnosis based only on the patient’s medical history and physical examination frequently is inaccurate. Therefore, all patients who have genital, anal, or perianal ulcers should be evaluated with a serologic test for syphilis and a diagnostic evaluation for genital herpes; in settings where chancroid is prevalent, a test for Haemophilus ducreyi should also be performed

Allplex™ Genital ulcer Assay exhibits Seegene’s proprietary MuDT™ technology, which allows

to provide multi-Ct (threshold cycle) values in a single fluorescence channel without melt curve

analysis on real-time PCR instrument. Allplex™ Genital ulcer Assay is a real-time PCR assay that permits simultaneous amplification and detection of target  . An endogenous human gene is used as Internal Control (IC) for monitoring the whole process from sample collection to nucleic acid extraction as well as to check for any possible PCR inhibition. PCR efficiency may be reduced by inhibitors that may be present in clinical specimens. However, due to inconsistencies in the amount of human cells contained in urine, IC is exogenously added only into urine samples and used as an exogenous whole process control.

Analytes

 HSV-1 , HSV-2 , CMV , VZV , LGV (C. trachomatis serovar L) , T. pallidum , H. ducreyi , Internal Control (IC)
