CHROMagar Listeria , a chromogenic media for the isolation of specimens, allowing direct differentiaion of Listeria monocytogenes by blue color colonies with white halos. This chromogenic culture media is based on phospholipase activity specific to L. Monocytogenes. The method includes a single step of broth enrichment and differentiates L. monocytogenes in pacticular from L. innocua. Results are obtained between 48 hours and 4 days.
This is significantly less than the 5- 10 days for test results from conventional methods.
