Modified Special Oligos

Modified  oligonucleotides are available  with a wide range of different labels as

  • fluorescent dyes (ABI dyes, cyanine dyes, ...)
  • IRDyes™ (IRDye™700, IRDye™800)
  • hapten labels (biotin, digoxigenin, DNP, ...)
  • modified bases (Inosin, dideoxy nucleosides, methyl-dC, ...)
  • DNA/RNA hybrids
  • functional linkers (amine, hydrazide and thiol linkers in varying lengths, ...)
  • spacers and branches (modifications for introducing spaces and branches into oligonucleotides)
  • other modifications (phosphorylation, psoralen, cholesterol, dabcyl, ...)

Together with our customers we try to find the best solution for each application. Technical support concerning optimal design and purity needs of oligonucleotides is a just as important part of our service as the synthesis of products itself. Especially new techniques developed for real-time monitoring and quantification in amplification studies, detection of RNA within living cells or big genotyping projects require the use of multiple labeled oligonucleotides. To ensure unambiguous, definite, and clear results, synthesis and purification of these specialized oligonucleotides show a strong demand for outstanding know how and highly sophisticated equipment. Producing according to the standards of ISO 9001

Fluorescent Probes Storage Guidelines

Overview Dual-labeled probes are shipped dry and can be stored in this state at -80°C for at least one year. Before use, make a stock solution by re-suspending the dry probe in aqueous solution to a known concentration and then aliquot into microvials and store at -20°C.
When needed, only the required number of aliquoted microvials should be removed from the freezer and placed on ice and covered until needed.

Important Notes:
a) The pH of Tris buffers decreases ~0.028 pH units per 1°C rise in temperature.Adjust pH at expected working temperature
b) Tris should not be used as a buffer below pH~7.2 or above pH~9.0.
